Rev. Gideon Agbo is a dedicated and compassionate pastor with a deep love for his congregation. Born and raised in a small town, he discovered his calling to serve God at a young age. After completing his theological studies, he began his ministry journey, spreading the message of hope and faith. Rev. Gideon’s sermons are known for their inspiring messages and practical guidance for everyday life. He is actively involved in community outreach programs and providing support to those in need. His commitment to making a positive impact has earned him the respect and admiration of his congregation.
Rev. Gideon was appointed in the Eagles Chapel International as Lay Minister in the year 2000. As an effective communicator of God’s word, Rev. Gideon is extensively known for his realistic and self-motivated teaching style which helps the people apply the unchanging truths of scripture to their everyday lives.
He was subsequently appointed as Lay Pastor in 2008, and as the branch Pastor of the church as well. He helped the senior pastor plant another branch in Accra-West Legon which he pastored seven years. As the branch pastor in Accra, Rev. Gideon also raised two lay ministers and stationed two other branches in Accra Atomic Down and Dodowa. To be successful, Rev. Gideon integrates evangelism, discipleship, and church planting as essential priorities in his ministry strategies. He worked diligently with the church leaders and organized a church that has the overwhelming responsibility of transforming sinners to saints, the helpless into helpful and unbelievers into Christians. God blessed Rev. Gideon with the gift he received as his wife Dinah Agbo. Her excitement, passion and imagination for God are wonderful resources to the body of Christ. They are married with a beautiful and unique son and daughter.
He was later ordained a reverend pastor in 2011 and supervised the three branches in the Greater Accra area which he faithfully shepherded until migrating to Chicago in 2014. Rev. Gideon joined the Christ Pentecostal Church Chicago in May 2015, when the late local Pastor Seth Dolley extended a hand of fellowship to him as he faithfully assisted until his (Pastor Seth Dolley’s) retirement in August 2019, and call to glory January 2023. May his soul rest in peace.
The General Overseer, Bishop Ebenezer Adarkwah then asked Rev. Gideon to take charge of the affairs of the church and later he was inducted into office as Resident Pastor in November, 2019.
Rev. Gideon passionately believes the Great Commission of the Church is to go and make disciples of every man. His vision incorporates his belief for the 21st century church. He opened a new growing assembly in June 2021, playing a part in the expansion of the Kingdom work. He believed God has mandated him as a blacksmith to forge godly souls and make ready the people for the second coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
